The student forms a personal response that begins to demonstrate an engagement with the text. This is done by listing some reasons for admiring Scribe (1) and making a link between text and self (2). To reach Achieved, the student needs to develop the personal response by expanding on ideas about willpower, determination and sacrifice.
This Level 1 Achievement Standard requires you to write personal responses to at least six independently read texts, sharing what you felt and thought about the ideas in them with supporting evidence. In each of the first three terms you will write TWO logs, using a combination of class time and homework time. The deadlines for each of these logs is written below.
